Dee Dee Bridgewater, whose real name is Denise Eileen Garrett, born on May 27, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American jazz singer. Her parents, great lovers of French cinema and theatre, named her Denise (nickname Dee Dee!) in homage to Denise Gence, whom they deeply admired.
