About — The artist

Eric Lu (Chinese: 陆逸轩; pinyin: Lù Yìxuān; born 15 December 1997) is an American classical pianist. He is the winner of the 19th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition (2025) in Warsaw, Poland, and of the 19th International Leeds Piano Competition (2018), in England. He is one of only two pianists, along with Radu Lupu, to have won at least two of the four major international piano competitions.

At 17, Lu first became internationally known by finishing fourth at the 17th Chopin Competition, in 2015, becoming one of the youngest laureates in the competition's history. He went on to win the 19th Leeds Competition at 20, as its youngest finalist, after performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. In 2025, he returned to the Chopin Competition and won first prize after playing the Polonaise-Fantaisie and Piano Concerto No. 2 in the final.

Lu has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and the Oslo Philharmonic. He began recording exclusively for Warner Classics in 2019, releasing critically acclaimed recordings of Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Schubert and Schumann.
