About — The artist

K. Maro, stage name of Cyril Kamar, also known as Kamar, born on January 31, 1980, in Beirut, is a Lebanese-Canadian singer, rapper, songwriter, producer, and cultural entrepreneur. Revealed within the Montreal hip-hop scene in the 1990s, notably with the group LMDS, he achieved international success in 2004 with the single "Femme Like U" from the album "La Good Life". His music is distinguished by the alternation of French and English, and by a blend of influences drawn from hip-hop, RnB, pop, and electronic sounds.

After his success as a performer, Cyril Kamar developed an activity as a producer, artistic director, and music entrepreneur. He founded several production and artistic development structures, notably discovering and supporting the launch of singer Shy'm, and collaborating with various players in the music industry.

In the 2020s, he resumed his stage and recording activities, particularly for the twentieth anniversary of "La Good Life" and "Femme Like U".

In parallel, he develops projects at the crossroads of music, image, and contemporary art. With his wife Anne-Sophie Mignaux, he founded Maison Keï Akai, an artists' house and art gallery located in Montreal (Canada).
