About — The artist
Laibach [ˈlajbax] is a Slovenian industrial, experimental, and avant-garde music group, originating from Trbovlje. Blending diverse influences (electro-industrial, martial industrial, neo-classical dark wave, among others), with a particular nod to The Residents (The Third Reich 'n' Roll, 1976), it is one of the first groups of this musical genre to achieve international renown, similar to Ministry. Its success is notably due to a cover of Opus's Live Is Life, released on the album Opus Dei, published by the Mute Records label, though its fame within the industrial scene dates back to its beginnings.
The group belongs to a collective of Slovenian artists gathered under the name Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK).
