About — The artist
Lenny Kravitz, born on 26 May 1964 in New York, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, producer and actor.
His compositions blend elements as varied as psychedelic rock, hard rock, rhythm and blues, soul, neo soul, funk and pop. His influences are wide-ranging and include Jimi Hendrix, Funkadelic, John Lennon, Prince, The Jackson 5, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and Led Zeppelin.
He sings and provides backing vocals on his recordings; he is a complete musician who plays many instruments himself on his albums: guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and percussion.
Occasionally an actor, he notably played Cinna in The Hunger Games and its sequel.
On 12 March 2024, he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where his daughter Zoë gave a touching speech paying tribute to him.
