Ministry

Ministry [ˈmɪnɪstɹi] is an American industrial metal band from Chicago. Their music is primarily a fusion of metal and industrial music, with punk influences. They are considered the first industrial metal band. Their music was initially new wave/synthpop-oriented, then Ministry changed its style to industrial metal in the late 1980s. Ministry found mainstream success in the 1990s with their album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs (1992) and tours as part of the Lollapalooza festival.

After 27 years on stage, Jourgensen decided to end the band in 2008, and subsequently declared that it would not reform. However, on August 7, 2011, a reunion was announced when Ministry confirmed one of their first concerts in four years at the Wacken Open Air festival in August 2012. Ministry released a new album, entitled Relapse, on March 23, 2012, which was followed by a world tour.
