About — The artist
Sniper is a French hip-hop group from Deuil-la-Barre, Val-d'Oise, formed in 1997. It is composed of Tunisiano (Bachir Baccour) and Aketo (Ryad Selmi). Blacko (Karl Appela) is a former member. DJ Boudj (Mohamed Ali Kebaier) was also part of the group for the first two albums, succeeded by DJ ROC-J.
Sniper gained popularity in the 2000s and achieved great notoriety with the albums Du rire aux larmes (2001), Gravé dans la roche (2003), and Trait pour trait (2006). In 2009, its members separated; they returned in 2011 with the album À toute épreuve without Blacko, and Personnalité suspecte vol.1 in 2018.
In 2019, Sniper cancelled its tour in France when Blacko, who had already left the group between 2007 and 2015, announced his desire to leave again.
