Between inner night and recovered light, Insula orchestra explores the contrasts of Robert Schumann's universe. The Manfred Overture, born from Byron's poem, opens the evening with the torments of a solitary hero struggling with himself.

Berlioz's Summer Nights then draw a more secret parenthesis: on the poems of Théophile Gautier, the voice of Marianne Crebassa – mezzo-soprano among the most admired of her generation – unfolds in delicate orchestration, magnified by period instruments.

Love, absence, memory: each melody draws an inner landscape. After these nocturnal wanderings, Symphony No. 3 "Rhine" widens the horizon like a luminous dawn – carried by the inspiration of the Rhine and the collective momentum of the orchestra.

At the head of Insula orchestra, Laurence Equilbey infuses this program with her intimate knowledge of Romantic repertoire on period instruments – an ensemble she founded and has conducted for over ten years with recognized rigor and passion throughout the European scene.
