Take 6 - Rhapsody

Cast?: Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea, Khristian Dentley

La Seine Musicale continues its exploration, bringing out the affinities between jazz and world music, driven by a taste for diversity and discovery. Beyond styles and across generations, its programme features major international figures, reveals emerging talents and offers unprecedented encounters. So many invitations to get swept up in the thrilling rhythms of swing and groove, and to share the euphoria of improvisation!

No group has reached such precision in the craft of a cappella vocal music. Following in the footsteps of Quincy Jones, it was Al Jarreau who said it loud and clear: "Take 6 is the best vocal group on the planet, light years ahead of all the others". Indeed, this ensemble, which has amassed no fewer than 10 Grammy Awards (not to mention numerous nominations in the Jazz, Pop, Gospel and Rhythm & Blues categories, and concerts or recordings with Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau and others), has reached an unmatched level of intonation, counterpoint, rhythmic invention, dynamics and... instrumental imitation.

Impressed by the acoustics of the Auditorium during their first concert in 2019, the group was keen to return and enchant the La Seine Musicale audience. It is an honour to welcome them back, this time with the programme of their new album, devoted to the great standards that marked the history of jazz. More than ever, attending a Take 6 concert remains an unforgettable experience!
