La Seine Musicale continues its exploration, highlighting the affinities between jazz and world music, driven by a taste for diversity and discovery. Beyond styles and transcending generational boundaries, its programme features major international figures, reveals emerging talents, and offers unique encounters. All are invitations to get excited by the pulsating rhythms of swing and groove, and to share the euphoria of improvisation! No group has achieved such precision in a cappella vocal craftsmanship. Like Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau loudly proclaimed: “Take 6 is the best vocal group on the planet, light years ahead of all the others.” Indeed, this group, which has amassed a staggering 10 Grammy Awards (not to mention multiple nominations in the Jazz, Pop, Gospel, Rhythm & Blues categories and concerts or recordings with Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau…) has reached an unparalleled level in accuracy, the art of counter-melody, rhythmic invention, dynamics, and… instrumental imitation. Impressed by the acoustics of the Auditorium during their first concert in 2019, the group was keen to return and enchant the audience of La Seine Musicale. It is an honour to welcome them again, this time with a programme from their new album, dedicated to the great standards that have marked the history of jazz.
