With The Spirit of 3, Christophe Dal Sasso, working with American saxophonist/singer Shekinah Rodz, takes us somewhere unexpected, although this insatiable composer never strays too far from his first loves, jazz and the classical repertoire.

Drawing on his past writing for big bands, choirs and symphonic orchestrations, he here delivers a repertoire as deep as it is celebratory, at the crossroads of Mediterranean, African and Indian rhythms, with his seven-piece ensemble and a singer/percussionist. Three, again.

A number that is decidedly fundamental, exalting everything binary within us — our arms, our eyes, our ears, right down to our heartbeats. Three, to say birth, life, death. But above all, life! And so the trance began...
