In brief
For four years now, Dang Thai Son, the legendary winner of the 1980 Chopin Competition in Warsaw, has returned to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and to French stages, earning the devotion of audiences who see in him at last what he truly is: a prince of the piano. He is back with a programme close to his heart: Ravel, who, born in Vietnam and French on his mother's side, stands for the heart of German Romanticism alongside Schubert and Schumann. A magical moment and a music lesson in the making.
