Didier Malherbe & Raphaël Didjaman

"This concert celebrates the release (or entry) of the album Cheerful Pendulum (Tribal Zik Records label). The wood when touched brings luck, so they say! It also carries music... with ancestral instruments celebrating music born from wood.

The Australian didgeridoo in eucalyptus wood (branches hollowed by termite appetite); the Armenian duduk in apricot wood animated by a double reed of cane; the Chinese Bawu, bamboo flute with free reed.

The Khaen of Laos, bamboo mouth organ; the Cello (the neck, back and ribs in maple wood, the soundboard in spruce); the Indian Tabla Bayan (in sheesham wood). These instruments are sometimes played on electronic sequences woven by Raphaël Didjaman.
