Most symbolically, the work opens with the flamboyant instrumental toccata of L'Orfeo, to which the text 'Deus in adjutorium meum intende' is added. Follows a dizzying union of counterpoint and solo singing, enhanced by a glittering instrumental array.
Ensemble InAlto conducted by Lambert Colson undertakes to renew our vision of an incomparable masterpiece of the history of Western music. In this exciting challenge, it can rely on a group of singers and instrumentalists among the greatest experts in this repertoire.
