Fela night : Afrofusion I 16.10.26

AFROFUSION This first Afrofusion at La Petite Halle takes you on a journey from Lagos to Kinshasa and from Cotonou to Accra, paying tribute to Fela Kuti, Poly-Rythmo and those they inspired.

For one intense, festive evening, this fusion of styles and eras will see OGA, Kiala, Babati Music and their many guests set the dancefloor alight and carry you along to the rhythm of afrobeat basslines with the breath of makossa.

OGA The story of OGA begins on the stage of the legendary New Africa Shrine in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2016. Two Frenchmen meet there and learn from musicians who were iconic members of Fela Kuti's band, Rilwan Fagbemi (known as 'Showboy') and Duro Ikujenyo.

They return to France with a single idea in mind: to distil a new and energetic Afrobeat on the Parisian scene. Ten years and ten musicians later, OGA unleashes its full rhythmic frenzy from Paris to Dakar.

Inspired by the great masters of Afrobeat, OGA draws on funk and jazz to add its guitar riffs and energetic horns, its droning basslines and a soulful, intoxicating vocal.
