Shabaka – Of The Earth

The British multi-instrumentalist Shabaka follows a path at the crossroads of jazz, spiritual music and world traditions. An incandescent saxophonist on the London scene in 2020, he made his name alongside Angélique Kidjo, Esperanza Spalding and Mulatu Astatke. In 2023, he chose to devote himself to flutes from around the world, with a particular fondness for the shakuhachi, the traditional Japanese flute. From this artistic metamorphosis came the album Of The Earth. Nourished by his travels and his spiritual explorations, his music opens up spaces where jazz engages in dialogue with trance, breath and contemplation, inviting listeners into an intense, free and deeply sensory listening experience.

Boularès, Segal and Waits – Hommage à Abu Sadiya

A spiritual guide and popular figure, Abu Sadiya founded the Tunisian stambeli rite, in which music and trance play a central role. Yacine Boularès, Vincent Segal and Nasheet Waits pay tribute to this mystical figure through Abu Sadiya, a vast evocative suite that takes the listener from the dunes of the Sahara to the streets of Manhattan.
