In a few words

One thing has always fascinated me about children: have you noticed their ability to make beings or places that are not meant to go together coexist? It is precisely the encounter between disparate characters and opposing environments that La Fille du Régiment tells. And despite its seemingly light-hearted appearance, the story transports us, subtly, from twists and turns to dramatic coups de théâtre, towards complex subjects and varied emotions. But two countries are at war, foreshadowing an impossible love story between enemies. However, in our era where we worry about wars in the world, where we play virtual war games, where we can buy war toys at the supermarket, we cannot approach this theme with our children as in 1840 – the year La Fille du Régiment was created, and when Napoleon I's remains were proudly repatriated to Les Invalides. Thus, journeying through this work brimming with unsuspected resources, our interpretation hopes to offer you a funny, tender, and powerful moment, accessible to all and in tune with the times.
