omment survive in a society that rejects you?

Checked on 26 October 2026.
Overview
omment survive in a society that rejects you? How can one keep joy and hope alive amid the ongoing ecological catastrophe? Faced with these burning questions, director Rébecca Chaillon conjures up, higgledy-piggledy, science fiction, the rituals of Afro-Caribbean culture, magic and charismatic figures. Each of these is a fine and joyful counter to the gloomy mood of the present day.
Rébecca Chaillon skilfully plays with every trick of the live arts. And the performers on stage are no less accomplished: they carry these stories of lives marked by discrimination, the refusal to give up and the determination to fight with real conviction. We are right at the heart of a combative, sensitive and defiant creation, both playful and dreamy. In a word, it is necessary for all those who, despite the hostility around them, still find the strength to stand tall in joy. An attempt at survival that starts from the margins and resists the norm, made of poetry, incantation and magic.
