Marie Stuart

A masterful performance of a text that is burning with topicality!

In this play, Schiller recounts the rivalry between Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, and Elizabeth I, Queen of England. Imprisoned in England, the Catholic Mary Stuart is accused of plotting against Elizabeth's Protestant reign. The play gives rise to a vibrant relationship, running through political and religious power struggles but also a mutual fascination. For this production, director Chloé Dabert sets the eras in dialogue. The costumes and hairstyles draw their inspiration from the sixteenth century. The set design, the soundscape and the lighting create a space with clean lines and a cold, more contemporary atmosphere. A breathless political thriller with feminist undertones, with twelve performers on stage!
