La tricoteuse de mots
In a house at the end of the world, a woman talks to herself.
La tricoteuse de mots: on Saturday 10 April 2027 at 16:00, at La Criée - Théâtre National de Marseille (13007 Marseille).
Checked on 27 October 2026.
Overview
In a house at the end of the world, a woman talks to herself. Words pile up, tangle and fill the space. Then she takes out her knitting needles and starts to knit. Thread by thread, stories come to life: mischievous princesses, bold princes, slightly dizzy kings… tales of love, cunning and adventure, where imagination never runs short of a knotty problem.
Inspired by One Thousand and One Nights and its Lebanese roots, Layla Darwiche draws on the traditions of the Near East and her childhood memories. For over twenty years she has been sharing these tales in France and elsewhere. A moment to share together, full of mischief, poetry and wonder.
