In a few words
She is one of the new stars of vocal music. He is a brilliant lutenist. Lea Desandre and Thomas Dunford met through the Jardins des Voix of baroque conductor William Christie. It was in this setting for young singers, conceived by William Christie, that Lea made her operatic debut. Her crystalline timbre, stage presence, and musicality were quickly noticed. She was named 'Revelation Lyric Artist' at the Victoires de la musique classique in 2017, and nominated in the 'Lyric Artist' category four years later. It was also William Christie who revealed her tragic temperament and offered her the title role in Charpentier's Médée, a work that then entered the repertoire of the Opéra de Paris. Since then, invitations have multiplied across the most diverse repertoires. Tonight, she reunites with the Jupiter ensemble and Thomas's lute for some strong-charactered figures from the French and Italian baroque pantheon.
