In brief

She is one of the new stars of singing. He is a brilliant lutenist.

Lea Desandre and Thomas Dunford met through Les Jardins des Voix, the young singers' academy founded by baroque conductor William Christie. It was in this showcase for young singers, imagined by William Christie, that Lea took her first steps in opera. Her crystalline timbre, her stage ease and her musicality were quickly noticed. She was named Revelation Artist in Lyric Art at the Victoires de la musique classique in 2017, and nominated in the lyric artist category four years later. It was again William Christie who revealed her tragedienne's temperament and gave her the title role of Charpentier's Médée, a work that then entered the repertoire of the Paris Opera. Since then, invitations have multiplied across the most diverse repertoires. Tonight she rejoins the ensemble Jupiter and Thomas's lute for a few characterful figures in the French and Italian baroque pantheon.
