Overview
Following a memorable, sold-out concert last January for the release of his album Dolce Vita, Louis Matute returns to the legendary New Morning stage on 18 November 2026.
Now one of the most inspiring figures on the European jazz scene, the Swiss guitarist charts the borders of an imaginary planet rooted between Europe and Latin America.
Drawing on his roots (Honduras) and his travels (Brazil, Cuba), he shapes a free, incandescent and deeply personal jazz. His new album, Dolce Vita, reads like a quest for identity: an inner journey between family memory and joyful resilience.
It is on stage that this soundscape reaches its full scope, carried by his Large Ensemble, a collective of rare cohesion: Louis Matute (Guitar), Shems Bendali (Trumpet), Marta Mansilla (Transverse Flute), Zacharie Ksyk (Trumpet), Léon Phal (Saxophone), Andrew Audiger (Piano) and Nathan Vandenbulcke (Drums).
At the heart of this collective power, Louis Matute's guitar draws a clear and moving line, uniting the energies in a sensitive alchemy. Music that is lived-in, somewhere between organic groove and poetic flights. Don't miss this new date.
