Overview
Presented by La Compagnie de L'Elan. Domestic tragedy, or better still: thriller! By: August Strindberg. Directed by: Nicole Gros. Cast: Philippe Catoire, Ludovic Coquin, Claude Gentholz, Anne Langlois, Frédéric Morel, Guillaume Tavi, Clémence Thoison. Running time: 2h00.
A family chamber drama around 1900; Srindberg never ceases to denounce the society of his time, closed in on itself and a prisoner of its moral principles and religious dogma.
Yet the play raises the question of women's place, a subject that makes it modern, and the major conflict erupts between Adolph and Laura.
