Anderszewski does not merely interpret works, he inhabits them, exploring the shadows and silences of romantic piano with rare intensity. In this recital, the Polish pianist brings together two peaks of the piano repertoire. Franz Schubert’s Piano Sonata in C minor D 958, written in 1828, opens the evening: music of restrained tension and interiority. Alongside this, Anderszewski offers a selection of piano pieces by Brahms. Concise, almost whispered pages written at the end of the composer's life, they explore another form of interiority, favoring discourse concentration, restraint and nuance.
