Quatuor Leonkoro
Second concert in the residency of the very young and highly talented Quatuor Leonkoro.
Dates: Sunday 21 February 2027 - 5 p.m.
Beethoven: String Quartet No. 4 in C minor, Op. 18 No. 4
Schubert: String Quartet No. 13 in A minor, D. 804 "Rosamunde"
In a few words
Still very young – the quartet was formed in 2019 – yet it already has everything of a great one, not least through its harvest of international prizes (notably at the Wigmore Hall Competition in London and the Bordeaux Competition) and the release of a first, much-noticed recording. It must be said that many "good fairies" leaned over its cradle early on, and here is the proof: Alfred Brendel, Günther Pichler and Valentin Erben (Alban Berg Quartet), Reinhard Göbel, Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartet) and Mathieu Herzog (Ébène Quartet).
For this second engagement, we return to the fundamentals with Beethoven and Schubert, and his sublime "Rosamonde", the work with which the musician "wanted to forge a path towards the great symphony". And it shows.
Production: Théâtre des Champs-Élysées
