Overview
Roman Borisov piano The first Parisian recital by Roman Borisov, a young prodigy of the Slavic keyboard. Beethoven Sonata No. 8 op. 13 “Pathétique” Medtner Songs Nos. 3 and 4, taken from the Forgotten Melodies Schubert Impromptus Nos. 2 and 3 op. 90 D. 899 Rachmaninov Sonata No.
2 op. 36 In brief A pupil of Mary Lebenzon, the emblematic professor at the Novosibirsk Conservatory, Roman Borisov gave his first recital in France in 2015 as part of the Piano en Valois festival in Angoulême. He was then just 12 years old.
He has since come a long way, winning several international prizes, notably the Tabor Foundation Prize at the Verbier Festival Academy's summer academy, and has been encouraged to record his first discs.
For his first Parisian engagement, he chose to give us sonatas by Beethoven and Rachmaninov, impromptus by Schubert and extracts from the rare Forgotten Melodies by his compatriot Medtner, which recall Scriabin and Rachmaninov, steeped in a certain form of nostalgia.
