Overview
The Théâtre Montparnasse presents (L-1-1006452)SUZANNE A play by Corinne SAMAMA and Jean-Benoît PATRICOT Directed by Dan JEMMETT With Catherine HIEGEL, Christophe PAOU and Marc PRIN April 1935. The painter Suzanne Valadon is hospitalised.
Everything has left her: her husband, her talent, and soon her son, Maurice Utrillo. Maurice wants to marry his mother's best friend. To keep him, Suzanne is ready to do anything, even break up this marriage. Between painting and motherhood, Suzanne has always chosen painting.
Yet, it was she who wanted to save her son from alcohol by teaching him to paint. As for alcohol, it was a failure. However, in painting, the son surpassed the mother in notoriety. If the mother is proud, the artist is jealous. Their confrontations seem endless.
Tonight, they will have to attempt reconciliation as time is running out for Suzanne. A mother-son joust as cruel as it is moving.
