With this new creation, Martin Crimp returns to musical form alongside his longtime collaborator Roald van Oosten. Music hall, philosophical fable and bestiary of digital animals, The Animal Room blurs the boundaries between artificial and animal intelligence. This concert-theatre piece of shimmering pop explores that tipping point at which it becomes urgent to redefine our place as human beings in the living world.

Driven by a musical fever and a desire to leave this "animal room", Judith Chemla, French singer and actress, leads her musicians and the audience on a dizzying crossing: that of the animal imagination. Each song embodies, in turn, an enraged chameleon, a philosophical cat and other faunal creatures, revealing a presence in the world that now escapes humans.

In a collage in constant metamorphosis, finely shaped by the Quebec director Christian Lapointe, this playful quest bordering on the strange explores the limits of language, identity and reason in a changing world.
