The exhibition “Toi et ta bande” brings together practices by artists and collectives based in varied territories – countryside, high mountains, islands – whose common thread is a choice to stay apart from urban centres.
The exhibition brings together some thirty works that outline the contours of a social and artistic field, revealing the distinctiveness of the regions where they take shape: Limousin, Cévennes, Corsica, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pays Basque, etc.
The title, borrowed from a work by Gina Proenza, evokes the many bands that run through the exhibition: artists’ collectives, communities of living, working and struggle, as many forms that question the ways we can be together.
