Cinema helps us put words to the questions that run through our lives. By bringing films and philosophy into dialogue, Ollivier Pourriol invites us to reconnect with the pleasure of reflecting together to better understand our lives, our wanderings, and the world around us.
A former student of the École Normale Supérieure, with an advanced degree in philosophy, writer and screenwriter, Ollivier Pourriol has for several years been developing an original approach that brings great works of cinema into dialogue with major philosophical texts.
Based on one or more film(s), he invites the public to explore the philosophical, political, or existential questions hidden behind the images: desire, freedom, power, courage, identity, justice, or the relationship to truth.
Far from a lecture, each session takes the form of a lively conversation between cinema and philosophy, where the works become tools to better understand our era and our own experiences as human beings.
An invitation to look differently at the films we love and to make cinema a place for collective reflection.
