Creator of an entirely new sound, born from the fusion of jazz-funk and samba, samba doido is one of Brazil's most influential bands and undoubtedly one of the world's oldest.

Fifty years after its creation, the trio has released over thirty albums and continues to perform with the same energy and enthusiasm as from the beginning.

Their latest album, Marca Passo, marks an important milestone as it is the first studio album since the death of founding drummer Ivan Mamão Conti in 2023, following keyboardist José Roberto Bertrami in 2012.

Alex Malheiros, the only founding member still present, considers the preservation of the group's musical heritage a spiritual duty. He is accompanied on keyboards by Dudu Viana, equally devoted, known for his collaborations with Roberto Menescal, Marcos Valle, and João Bosco.

On drums, we have Renato Massa, who has collaborated with artists such as Marcos Valle and Ed Motta. Since their earliest recordings, Azymuth has always been much more than the sum of its members.

Beyond their influence on jazz and funk, their contribution to global electronic music is undeniable.

They have collaborated with artists like 4hero, Madlib, and Jazzanova, and their tracks have been remixed by heavyweights such as Theo Parrish, Ron Trent, Global Communication, and Daniel Maunick.
