Presented by Le Théâtre du Merlan. What drives a person to change their life, to take a different path, from one moment to the next? Certainly an intimate upheaval, an irrepressible act that breaks with a situation that has become unbearable.

Perhaps a violent, personal uprising, torn from the life before to constitute the founding act of the life to come. Author and director Julie Bertin is fond of individual and collective memories, archives, and recent history.

She met with a hundred people who had experienced an inner upheaval, in France or elsewhere. From this quest, she kept the stories of seven women and men of different nationalities.

That of Maxime, an 18-year-old Frenchman, Eduardo, a 91-year-old Spaniard, or Michelle, a 32-year-old Indian. A blend of seven uprisings, in seven languages, whose stories unfold in fragments and intertwine with each other.

A simple stage setup that evolves with the words, memories, and places. A mysterious wall in the distance, earth spread on the ground, where dance gets involved when words fail or when emotion overflows.

Living tableaux, connected by an invisible link, play out on the same fictional territory, full of promises...
