Born Bad Records celebrates its 20th anniversary at the Théâtre du Châtelet!

I like radical people, whole people. Music professionals and virtuosos have always bored me. I prefer authentic, imperfect artists who have flashes of brilliance that I'll help bring out. Jean-Baptiste Guillot.

Jean-Baptiste Guillot spoke these words on the tenth anniversary of Born Bad Records. ).

Having worn through the seat of his trousers at major labels and having founded his own label twenty years ago, in the wake of a round of redundancies that hit the record industry, he's still standing!

Turning twenty in rock'n'roll goes well beyond maturity: it's almost an act of resistance! It means cultivating a mindset marked by loyalty to values (independence everywhere, compromise nowhere) as much as to artists, mostly French. Why?

To support them better over the long haul, and to make them shine, without artifice. Today, Born Bad Records is far more than rock, indie, pop and underground. Incidentally, who still knows how to define what "underground" means?

No matter, no label sticks to the vinyl records bearing the Born Bad Records mark.

This label is thoroughly alternative: from the discovery of the band Cheveu (blues), to Frustration (post-punk), via Bryan's Magic Tears (shoegaze), La Femme (rock machine) or Arthur Satàn (garage rock) and Zombie Zombie (krautrock), the list is long: over 200 albums!

And Born Bad Records recently revealed Star Feminine Band, an afropop group made up of seven women, born in Natitingou, Benin, at roughly the same time as the label.

So – make no mistake – to blow out its twenty candles in the Grand Salle of the Théâtre du Châtelet, Born Bad Records will set the place alight! With Frustration, Vox Low, Gwendoline, Bryan's Magic Tears, Zombie Zombie, Forever Pavot, Bracco, Arthur Satan
