In brief

A new engagement now firmly established at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées: that of Hans-Christoph Rademann and his ensemble, the Gaechinger Cantorey, whose concerts bear a rare hallmark: that of clarity, the kind that goes straight to the heart of the works. The exceptional quality of the choir, the transparency of the lines in the orchestra, all carried by the infectious energy of a conductor of remarkable authenticity, combine to create great moments of emotion and artistic truth. Tonight, Hans-Christoph Rademann and his ensemble will introduce us more fully to the marvellous motets of J.S. Bach and their learned polyphony for double choir, interspersed with some of the most beautiful orchestral pages from the cantatas.
