Since being created in 1977 by Claude Bessy, they have become a highlight of the School's life, where audiences can come and appreciate the richness of classical dance training at the Paris Opera.
As every year in December, the students, accompanied by their teachers and pianists, display the skills needed to master the codes of the French school, a foundation which, once mastered, will open the door to great artistic freedom.
The Démonstrations also offer a glimpse of the other choreographic arts and styles the students practise as part of their training: contemporary dance, folk dance, baroque dance, mime, character dance and musical expression.
