Dub Pistols

Presented by Le New Morning. How many bands can claim a career spanning decades? Dub Pistols, formed during the big beat explosion of the 1990s, are about to release their 10th album in 2025, after a path that has at times been strewn with obstacles.

Despite these challenges, their popularity remains strong thanks to a loyal following and diverse collaborations. Their first album, Point Blank (1998), marked the start of an international career and considerable media exposure.

After a break caused by the events of 11 September, they bounced back with influential albums such as Rum & Coke and Worshipping The Dollar. Their style was enriched by collaborations with Terry Hall of The Specials and artists such as Akala and Rodney P.

In 2019, they launched their own festival, Mucky Weekender. After success during the pandemic with singles such as Stand Together, they continue to innovate with albums such as Frontline (2023) and a future project with the Freestylers.

Their international tour goes on, consolidating their status as one of the most dynamic groups on the music scene. Pioneers of a hybrid sound blending dub, big beat, hip-hop and ska, Dub Pistols have been getting international dancefloors moving since the 1990s.

Fronted by the charismatic Barry Ashworth, the London-based collective formed in the midst of the big beat explosion, alongside the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, and quickly established its explosive style, mixing samples, brass, heavy bass and punk energy.

In more than 25 years of career, the DubPistols have collaborated with iconic figures such as Terry Hall (The Specials), Rodney P, Akala or even Lindy Layton, delivering cult albums and incendiary performances.
