Emile Londonien

Emile Londonien presents Kissa, a third album conceived as a genuine echo chamber in the face of the dizziness of our frantic times.

Originally conceived as a love letter to Japan's "jazz kissa", those intimate, vinyl-packed venues dedicated to pure listening, the project spontaneously evolved into a vibrant ode to slowness.

In a world condemned to permanent distraction, the Strasbourg trio (Nils Boyny, Théo Tritsch and Matthieu Drago) chose to remove their creation from urgency and immediacy in order to recreate genuine spaces for concentration.

After Legacy (2023) and Inwards (2024), the band takes a decisive step with Kissa. The album retains the trio's DNA — that distinctive blend of broken beat, house and jazz forged within the Omezis collective — but transposes it into a suspended, closed-off world.

For the album's visual identity, Émile Londonien teamed up with comic-book artist Pierre-Henry Gomont.

His highly distinctive world, marked by fluid, almost nervy drawing and an instantly recognisable line, brings an organic dimension that fits naturally with this project built around the intimacy of the kissa bar.
