Overview

Doors open at 19:30 Istanbul's synth-pop and new wave pioneers, Jakuzi, first captured attention in 2017 with their debut album "Fantezi Müzik", which introduced modern Turkish underground music to the world.

Starting out modestly on cassette in 2016, the album was successfully reissued in early 2017 by City Slang Records and received international acclaim.

It was praised by international media outlets such as The Quietus and The Guardian, leading to sold-out shows and a tour alongside John Maus.

Jakuzi has since conquered numerous European stages, performing at major festivals such as Primavera in Madrid and Barcelona, Donaufest in Austria and Synästhesie in Berlin.

Two years after their debut, their second album "Hata Payi" appeared in 2019 (meaning "A share of the mistake" in Turkish), blending 80s lo-fi, new wave, krautrock and post-punk elements while exploring the human condition.

The band's frontman, Kutay Soyocak, sings in Turkish about melancholy, nostalgia, reflections on power and the bleak future of Turkey's lost youth.

The band's latest album, Madalyon I, released in 2024 once again on City Slang, continues their evolution, exploring themes of identity, transformation and emotional struggle through a refined and cinematic production.

Their new album is currently in preparation and will be released next autumn. com/jakuz1/
