Jorge Vistel

Presented by Le Baiser Salé. Cuban jazz in motion: raw, elegant, incandescent. A quarterly rendezvous with Jorge Vistel, where the energy of Afro-Cuban music, the freedom of modern jazz and the urgency of improvisation meet.

A magnetic trumpeter, a regular on club circuits and international stages, Jorge Vistel has for several years built a strong signature: a dense sound and a sharp musicality. Here, Afro-Cuban tradition never stands still. It circulates, erupts, transforms.

Rhythms engage in dialogue with contemporary harmonies, lines grow taut, improvisations catch fire.

For each date, a new group, guests from the Parisian and international scene, unexpected dialogues, original compositions that evolve over the course of the concerts, and improvisations that stretch the boundaries between Afro-Cuban, modern jazz and contemporary Afro-Caribbean music.

A regular on clubs and major international stages, Jorge Vistel has a rare presence, a powerful sound, constant tension, and a way of letting Afro-Cuban tradition breathe within a fully contemporary aesthetic.
