Joyce Moreno

Born in Rio de Janeiro, nominated four times for Grammy Awards, singer, composer, arranger, and instrumentalist, JOYCE MORENO has in her portfolio over 400 recordings of songs she wrote, performed by the greatest names in Brazilian popular music: from Elis Regina and Gal Costa to Milton Nascimento, Sergio Mendes, and many others.

Beyond Brazil, Joyce's work has been recorded by Annie Lennox, Wallace Roney, Omara Portuondo, Black Eyed Peas, David Sanchez, Jon Lucien, Claus Ogerman, Gerry Mulligan, Till Brönner, Flora Purim, to name just a few.

In the early 1990s, her music was adopted by DJs worldwide, starting in London, and her track Aldeia de Ogum became a huge success on dancefloors worldwide, with numerous remixes.

Since the beginning of her career, Joyce's hallmark is the first-person female voice, which she initiated; she was the first Brazilian female singer-songwriter to express herself this way, paving the way for countless other artists who followed.

Joyce Moreno received four Latin Grammy nominations (2000, 2004, 2005, 2010), as well as numerous awards in Brazil and internationally. To date, she has released 39 personal CDs and two DVDs, in addition to numerous compilations and guest participations.

Currently, her work takes her to all corners of the world; she tours annually and records new albums in different countries, never losing her Brazilian feminine identity.
