Kabarè Z brings a transgressive breeze to Martinique. Nadia Chonville and her companions unveil the emancipatory potential of their songs and dances, in a cabaret that challenges patriarchy from the Caribbean.

Writer, doctor of sociology and politician, Nadia Chonville took the bold step in 2024 of creating a feminist, queer and decolonial project in Martinique. This is how Kabarè Z was born.

A space of liberation for Afro-descendant bodies weary of an exoticising colonial gaze, it now radiates from Fort-de-France to Paris.

Performances of song, dance and fiery lip-syncs unfold there in an intimate setting, relying on closeness with the audience, under the auspices of the mistress of ceremonies Klochèt, Nadia Chonville's alias.
