Overview
On the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of the Child, Le Carreau du Temple is programming the show « Peines mineures » by Sonia Chiambretto, the film « Quartier mineur » by Thibaud Croisy and a round table!
Behind bars, social conventions no longer apply. And speech is set free. A performance, a film and a discussion reveal the hidden reality of young people in reeducation: accounts, confessions, inner voices… Juvenile justice and its supervision are currently the subject of much debate, notably linked to the new code of juvenile criminal justice in force since 2021. Le Carreau du Temple is therefore inviting audiences to a discussion on this subject and presenting Sonia Chiambretto's performance, created for the International Day of the Rights of the Child, as well as the film Quartier mineur by Thibaud Croisy, which documents the daily life of educators in youth prisons.

Show Peines mineures by Sonia Chiambretto
In partnership with the Festival Playground of the Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis
Sonia Chiambretto immersed herself in a closed educational centre, in dialogue with young women detained there, adolescents and minors within the meaning of the law. What the poet saw, lived and heard there feeds her book Peines mineures and the performance of the same name. We encounter the voices of these girls aged 13 to 16, in the freedom of their solitude and intimacy, facing an oppressive and often violent daily life. From escapes – imagined or real – to rebellious fury and frenzied chases, the actress and dancer Tara Veyrunes grapples with these cries and murmurs as though they were her own dreams of action.
