Overview
Following on from his book Le Pouvoir Rhétorique, Clément Viktorovitch, a political scientist known for popularising his field on France Info, Clique and Quotidien, appears on stage for the first time in a biting fictional piece.
He plays the President of the Republic's communications adviser who, after being brutally ousted, seeks revenge. His weapon?
A lecture, in which he decides to reveal all the secrets they used to seize power… Through this debut solo show, Clément Viktorovitch does more than pass on tools for decoding rhetoric: he questions the very place of speech in our political life.
When words are emptied of their content, when communication is reduced to the art of not saying anything, how can we still form an opinion? Is it even still possible to debate? And what if what we've lost along the way is simply… the very meaning of democracy?
"More than a show, Clément Viktorovitch offers us a wildly intelligent lecture on the manipulation practised by the powerful, reminding us just how much 'words are political', and how, by emptying them of meaning, they put democracy at risk. " – TÉLÉRAMA.
