Shyness of the Trees, a gift they gave themselves to celebrate their 20 years spent celebrating in music the joy of the simple fact of living, is part of this trajectory of organic folk music, in French in the text, stripped of postures.
American without folklore, French without affectation. A bastard music, somewhere between Calexico, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Jean-Louis Murat.
The album is moreover dedicated to the latter, as well as to Shane MacGowan — two artists who held without ever letting go of the song as a lifeline. Shyness of the Trees is not a comeback album. It is an album of continuity.
