Les Pensées Nicolas Doutey / Sylvain Maurice
What if thinking were child's play? What if playing were deadly serious?
Overview
What if thinking were child's play? What if playing were deadly serious?
Ida and Paul discover that they think, and they are quite astonished by it. They are two friends, naïve and perhaps a little bit clownish too. They play with words and with thoughts, they go from surprise to surprise, and it makes them thoroughly joyful. And when there are two of you, thoughts can be shared. It helps you move forward, and it sets you free too…
It is not entirely by chance that the title of the piece echoes the famous text by the thinker Pascal; the aim here is to embody, with all the seriousness and joy of which children are capable, great questions of philosophy.
Sylvain Maurice has imagined a show for two actors and one musician, with a simple set-up that can be installed anywhere, and made accessible to everyone.
Through the lively language of Nicolas Doutey, who here signs his first text for young audiences, the theatre becomes a field of exploration in the present…
