Lisa Cat-Berro

Contemporary jazz — Lisa Cat-Berro, talented saxophonist and singer, invites us to discover her new album "Good Days Bad Days", an intimate journey between melodies and emotions.

Lisa Cat-Berro's second album (nominated at the 2013 Victoires du Jazz), "Good Days Bad Days", is the testimony of a crossing and a transformation that is as much an inner road book as a diary.

The saxophonist reaffirms her songwriting qualities and delivers to us for the first time the intimacy of her sung voice, like an amused and tender response to those who have told her for so long that she plays as one sings.

Ten tracks, five songs and five instrumentals, tell the story of a transformation, even a rebirth.

These soul songs, born of the obligation to accept the succession of days as they are, good or bad, speak to us of reincarnation, changing times, fruitful waiting and the light that emerges from destitution.

To bring these "folksongs" to life, she chose to continue the path begun with the musicians of her quartet, driven by the joy of hearing the pieces take shape and build with them.

The band's sound, tinged with folk and instrumental pop, which has aged with time, gives a real depth to this music which wants to bear witness to the energy of life and resilience that is present in each of us.

Line-up: Lisa Cat-Berro: saxophone, vocals; Daniel Mizrahi: guitar / vocals; Nicolas Larmignat: drums; Stéphane Decolly: electric bass. The 38Riv Jazz Club is an intimate venue in the heart of the Marais (38 rue de Rivoli, Paris 4th), dedicated to jazz and improvised music.
