Marlon Magnée

After fifteen years touring the world with La Femme, a band he co-founded (numerous gold records, music victory, + 600M streams, + 400k albums sold) and brought to the biggest stages in France and internationally (Accor Arena, Zéniths, Glastonbury, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza Chicago, Osheaga Montreal…), Marlon returns today as a solo artist with a first album that reconnects him with his first passions.

We find his taste for unexpected crossovers and his singular style: a blend of rockabilly, punk, cold wave and psychedelic psychobilly.

The tracks, in French but also in English, rely on sixties guitars, an "orgy of" eighties synths, powerful drum machines, analog delays and deliberately raw energy.

His influences traverse the entire album: Velvet Underground, The Stranglers, Motörhead, The Cure, The Stray Cats, JJ Cale, Nuggets compilations but also Francophone figures like Gainsbourg, Les Rita Mitsouko, Métal Urbain, Plastic Bertrand, Marc Charlan.

The result: a fast, nervous record, (tempos at 240 bpm) sometimes radical, conceived "for those whose hearts are bleeding and who want to have it out".

Co-directed with Renaud Letang (Feist, Manu Chao, Peaches) at the mythical Ferber studio, this album marks a true return to roots for Marlon and announces, with force, the return of rock to the current musical landscape.
