Overview
Raised on Sonic Youth, The Jesus Lizard and My Bloody Valentine, the Bordeaux-based Mars Red Sky had little idea they were about to become one of the pillars of the French stoner scene when they formed the band in 2007.
Yet the heavy psychedelic trio already shared a good deal of obvious similarities and affinities with the "heavy and slow" fraternity. Detached from any concern for musical genre, the musicians build their own style following in the footsteps of underground pioneers.
From a thick, complex rhythm section emerges the ethereal, melodic voice of Julien Pras, carried by the lyricism of science-fiction literature. Almost cinematic, MARS RED SKY's sound gives off a strange, singular flavour, skilfully standing out in the heavy rock landscape
