Mathématique en Poésie

Mathematics in PoetryA literary and scientific lecture devised and presented by Cédric VillaniCédric Villani reveals the true nature of mathematical art: shimmering and imaginative, full of harmony and dramatic twists, sometimes even epic — far from its image as dry mechanics!

Weaving together the history of science and his own personal journey, the professor-orator calls on great poets — Omar Khayyam, Lewis Carroll, Paul Valéry, Blaise Cendrars, Jules Supervielle, Vénus Khoury Ghata...

— to illustrate, compare, question and ultimately shed light on these two cousin arts, Mathematics and Poetry. A truly singular lecture that reconciles the world of numbers with the world of words!
