Mono

Mono, the Japanese post-rock group formed in Tokyo in 1999, brings its musical universe to the Lyon audience at Marche Gare.

Formed in Tokyo in 1999, Mono has established itself on the international post-rock scene with its first album, Under the Pipal Tree, released in 2001. The group develops an instrumental aesthetic in which slow, brooding dynamics give way to intense sonic climaxes, blending distorted guitars with orchestral arrangements. Over the years, its discography has grown through numerous studio albums and worldwide tours that have shaped its reputation within the independent music scene.

On stage, the group presents a full line-up in which every musician contributes to building pieces that are often long, constructed like monumental crescendos. The concert takes place in a setting designed to appreciate this instrumental density, far from radio-friendly formats. This evening is aimed at fans of instrumental rock and sweeping soundscapes, keen to discover the sheer power of performance of this Japanese ensemble in the space of Marche Gare.
