Peet

Peet is one of the leading figures of the new Belgian scene, and is gradually winning over France! A lyricist, singer and beatmaker, he first became known within the group Le 77 before striking out on his own as a solo artist.

His writing is distinctive, poetic, sensitive and authentic. He draws on personal stories that a whole generation can recognise themselves in, on the setbacks of city life and on life stories.

Project after project, he has remained within the field of urban music, yet he has refined a style nourished by very diverse influences and found his balance.

With his forthcoming album Joyboy (27 February 2026), he returns to his love of instruments, delivering an even more personal, organic album, driven by a musical sensitivity that is ever more assured.

On it you will find round, jazzy sounds, imbued with soul and funk, but also a pop and luminous aesthetic more pronounced than before, which is also owed to the talented musicians who have accompanied him for years.

At 32, ten of those years devoted to rap, Peet confides: « J'ai évolué dans l'écriture et j'ai appris à mieux utiliser ma voix.  » The album's title comes from One Piece. « I'm a huge fan of this manga. He is a character who comes to restore order in a world that isn't doing well.

I wouldn't describe myself exactly like that. But he is someone who has been through quite a few trials. » Literally meaning « joyful boy  », Joyboy becomes here a metaphor: finding inner peace, keeping hope alive despite doubts, growing up.

With total sincerity, eyes turned towards the sky. Through these new tracks, Peet questions his doubts, explores his bonds with those close to him, invites us on a journey, addresses the vicissitudes of his life as an artist and speaks of resilience.
